Volunteers are our most precious resource. During the shelter season, it takes approximately 60 volunteers per week to shelter, feed and provide a safe environment for our clients. Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
Intake - The intake process begins at 5:30. During intake the volunteer meets with the clients and completes with the daily required screenings. Intake typically takes about 1 hour.
Meal - Each night volunteers provide a warm meal for the shelter clients. Meal volunteers arrive at the shelter no later than 6:15pm, serve a meal, fellowship with the clients and clean up the dining area before leaving. The meal volunteers also provide a breakfast meal for the clients the following morning. Volunteers must be out of the shelter no later than 9pm. Meal Service Information
Overnight- Overnight volunteers are needed on Friday and Saturday nights. These volunteers stay from 11pm-8am. Overnight volunteers must stay awake all night and monitor the house by frequently walking the building. The overnight volunteer is also responsible for waking up the residents, getting them fed and out the door by 8am.
Activities- You can also volunteer by leading a bingo night, board game night, bible study, movie night and more! Activity Information
